27th Empire State Winter Games

LAKE PLACID – The Empire State Winter Games Opening Ceremonies in the Herb Brooks Arena at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid will start at 6pm on Friday, February 23. Admission is free. The traditional parade of athletes, video presentation and torch lighting will highlight the event. Immediately following the ceremonies will be the 11th annual Winter Festival throughout the Olympic Center with activities, games and music until 8:30pm. Competition takes place on Saturday-Sunday, February 24-25. Winter sports include alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsled, cross-country skiing, luge, skeleton, ski orienteering, snowshoe racing, ski jumping and speed skating. On February 24, from 5-7:30pm, the Olympic Center will host a Saturday Night Chill Out with live music by The Refrigerators, food, games, prizes and fireworks. Visit empirestategames.org.
